Great cover, and a great title for your book! Both covers are excellent, but I'd pick the second one as the text doesn't overwrite the photo, and it looks a little cleaner... and a bit more artsy. But EITHER would work fine. Tell your sister she did a great job!
Let me know when you have this available, and I will mention it in our newsletter.
I like the first one because the text is easier to read. You don't want someone to struggle with reading the cover. The photo on the second is cleaner because the text doesn't run over the man's head. If only the first could be off the man's head it would be an improvement.
When I was with my former employer (downsized because they quit the book publishing business) we always considered how readable a title was when the cover was reduced in size. This was for the sake of catalogs and online listings. Sometimes the most creative is not always the one that best gets the title/message across.

I like the first cover better- I like the deeper color tones. Of course, if I'd seen the second cover first I may have chosen it..the picture's initial impact is great! Diana Cunningham (ex-Tanglewood School, member of Christian Publishing group)
I think the way the title is done on the first cover makes it easier to read. Even knowing what the title was prior to looking at the images, it looked almost like "HEART HEART." I think the first is more "legible."
Yay Deborah! And is that Johnny's head? I love the second but I did know what the title was before I looked and don't know if that made it easier to read. It is more compelling to me though.

I prefer the 2nd cover since it is easier to read.
Hi Rachel,
How exciting for you - and your designer sister! I liked both covers, and agree with Jim's comments...I'd pick the second one as well.
Blessings!
